Leah's Birthday!

Okay, so I am late on this blog but I wanted to share the surprise B-Day party I threw for Leah on the 27th of February! It was super fun. I used evite for her invitations. It was my first time using evite for an event and I think it worked out well! There were about 20 people that showed give or take, most were her family members including a few friends.

I was super excited about her cake i had made for her by a lady in the ward, Sister Kossman. It was her first time making this type of a cake and she did it perfectly!!! It was truly amazing. We had people coming up to us at the restaurant asking where we had it made, if Sister Kossman were in the business she would have had a lot of future customers that evening! :)

The party was held at one of Leah's favorite restaurants, Johnny Carrinos. I decorated the area we were in with streamers and pink confetti hearts all over the tables. It was a blast!!!!!!! Here are the photos!

Hello Everyone!

So I went to see my Midwife on the 19th. Quick funny side note...David is so in tune mentally that he had called Mom while I was at my appointment to ask if I had found out the sex yet. Now for him not even knowing what day or week I was going to my appointment I would say he is pretty good at guesstimating. Love ya Dave!

So yeah, my appointment!! I went first off at 9a.m., thinking that is what time my appointment was. Come to find out when I got there my appointment wasn't until 1:30p.m. I'm starting to believe "pregnancy brain" really isn't a myth. So I go AGAIN to my appointment that afternoon and what was really funny about it all is that I really, really wanted to know what the sex was and so all morning I was online reading about ways to make an ultrasound read better. Hahaha...so, turns out there are a bunch of things people have spread on the net about what you can do.

  • Drink a coke/or a fizzy drink - I chose a Sunkist :-)

  • Consume a bunch of sugar (supposedly this will make the baby hyper so they move around a lot) - I chose a can of pineapple chunks, decided that wasn't good enough and went for a 3 Musketeers from the vending machine.(Have you tried the Raspberry 3 Musketeers yet!? Yum!)

  • Have a full bladder when going in for the Ultrasound - which I did but the tech told me to empty it before I went in (so this myth isn't right).

Then on the way to my Midwife, (advice from Jenny) I listened to Aerosmith "Living on the Edge". Now I don't have a CD player in the car I'm driving, so ironically enough this just so happened to come on the station I was listening to oooh I would say about half way there. So, I'm dancing all about and singing the song like a mad woman!! (while driving, yes I was being safe) Thinking "just maybe if I sing loud enough lil baby will wake up and start moving about!" I would say that it was all just falling in to place, nothing could go wrong and I was sure to find out the sex of my baby!

So I get there.....and I get into the room with the Ultrasound Tech. and right when she put the device on my stomach the shot was right there! The very first place she looked and little Anabella was showing off the fact that she is definitely a GIRL!

It was so funny. I was thinking "yep, the steps I took definitely worked!" So one picture below is showing off that she is a girl and the last one is a 4D picture of her lil angel face. :)

Ft. Carson

So I had a very cool day today! I went to the Fort Carson Base with my co-worker Kristen to paperwork about 8 contractors that are transitioning from one staffing firm that couldn't pay their people (scary) to my company (aerotek). They work at BAE which stands for British Aerospace. So after the boring part of explaining the paperwork, benefits, Workman's comp and other such related issues, the Colonel took me and my partner out on the site to check out the tanks they were working on! We got to go inside and sit in the seats that the soldiers sit in during combat. We learned the controls and ranges of most of the weapons they have stocked on these bad boys. Apparently one of our tanks will demolish our enemy's tanks with out a problem and ranging up to about 5 miles away! Talk about feeling confident. Also, I learned about technology and how much it has helped us in time of war in the last few years. As far as less instances of "going in blind" and more communication capabilities all together. To say the least I was impressed and it's always an eye opener to see what our troops have to go through and in a round about way see how hard they have things...do you know sometimes the inside of those tanks get up to 150 degrees!!?? I mean I was thinking "I could bake some cookies in there!" Poor guys.

Baby!

Okay, so I decided I want to post some ultra sound pics. It's very hard not to become eventually very excited about this (guilt still on).
So the top picture is from 12 weeks along and the bottom is from 8 1/2 weeks along.

December news

So, it's December now which means family are coming to visit!! I'm so excited to see all my lil nieces and nephews (arianna not so lil anymore). Jenny, her Husband and their kids will be here from the 21st to the 28th I believe. David, Roxy and their kids will be here from the 26th to the 2nd of January I believe. I may be off a day or two on these dates but it should be loads of fun! :)
We have days set up where certain siblings will be cooking and doing the dishes on certain days. and Arianna is having her Birthday Party I think on the 24th I'm not too sure or maybe it is the day of her Birthday (the 26th). Umm...I'll write more about all that after it passes.

I made a new creation, pancake cookies!! Haha. It was great...see Dean being the good bro he is was organizing the kitchen and instead of having a jar of just sugar and flour on the counter he decided to clear some cabinet space and put the pancake mixture in a jar on the counter too. Now with this he put instructions taped to the jar on how much water to add and such but it was turned around so to look nicer. HA! Of course I made the mistake of putting pancake batter in the cookie mixture instead of flour...It was a good laugh and the batter was going to be thrown away but we all know Mom--she said to put it in a bag and freeze it. For what? Who knows...but she saves EVERYTHING. Why not some odd cookie batter??

As everyone in the family probably knows by now I am about 13 weeks along in my pregnancy. The only person in the immediate family I haven't communicated this to is David and Roxy. I am sure by the time they come for Christmas either someone will blurt it out or they will just look at me and think..."hmmm...she is getting a big belly, wonder why she isn't gaining weight in other places too". Telling David may be just as hard as it was telling Dad. I understand that this isn't the circumstance I should have put myself in and I do realize that I will have to deal with whatever comes my way now, negative or positive. So! Now that it's out in the open I'm hoping that everyone can get comfortable with the fact as much as possible. I will discuss more of all this as people let the news settle in.

Um, work is okay but I was almost let go due to circumstances that I could have sued the company! I have been an outstanding employee of Aerotek's for about 3 years now and they wanted to let me go over using my own days that I accrued off. About a month ago (before they knew I was pregnant) they wanted to promote me to a Recruiter position but I turned it down due to my own preference. There are other things that state me being an asset like giving me unscheduled raises and such. Hmmmmm, I guess they decided all of a sudden that they were unhappy with me. I think it's because they don't want to pay for my medical benefits (maternity leave and other things). I have always loved working at Aerotek and have thought seriously about staying with the company long enough to maybe retire from here one day. I have no idea if that is still in the cards for me, they are very "slick" and "in moral" at times. Maybe I should consider getting a career with a company with better values.

I have been going back to church! Yes, yes I know took me long enough right? I have been going with my friend Leah Light. She is a doll and very supportive of all that is going on with me right now. She is actually about 8 months pregnant herself. and Due in umm, I think today or tomorrow! Goodness :). She is having a girl this time her and her husband Patrick have a boy already he is a year old??? Dang i am so forgetful. He is adorable though and very smart for his age. So anyway I have been going back to church for a lil bit now and I know I should go to my parents ward but I find it a little more comfortable to go to a ward where no one knows me right now. (I'm feeling extremely guilty having a child and not being married). Cory and I were together for over a year and had discussed marriage a lot--to the point where we went and got engagement photos and everything, he was going into the Marines and in the end wasn't accepted due to medical disqualifications. That really threw us through a loop with the economy right now finding a job is slim to NOTHING. Then we started to go through the process of him having the missionary discussions and I don't know if it was the combination of not having a job and stress because he really was excited and depending on the Marines which made him all in all not interested in the church. I asked him if it was this situation holding him back or if he felt as though this would never be something he was interested in. His answer made all my decisions come clear. I had to break things off between us and commit myself to finding an LDS marriage. THEN....Tada! You are pregnant. *sigh*. So I have no idea really where to go from here but I'm taking it one day at a time.

Last but not least Dean, Dad and I are working on the basement to finish it...(my room, hall ways and food storage). It's fun for me but I'm sure not so much for them. I don't have anything more to say for now so.....TTFN.
